1. About these terms

These terms and conditions govern the relationship between TEFL Heaven (operated by Mike Maitland, Bangkok, Thailand — "we", "us", "our") and individuals ("you") who use our website or enrol in our teacher placement programs.

By submitting an enquiry or enrolling in a TEFL Heaven program, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Our services

TEFL Heaven provides teacher placement services, which may include:

• TEFL certification training (delivered through our partner TEFL course provider)
• Introduction to vetted partner schools and employers in the destination country
• Guidance on visa processes and documentation requirements
• Pre-departure information and support
• In-country support during your placement

The specific services included in your program are confirmed at the point of enrolment.

3. Placement guarantee

Where we advertise a "guaranteed school placement" or similar, this means we guarantee to provide you with a vetted school introduction — a confirmed interview opportunity with a partner school that has positions available in your chosen destination.

This guarantee does not constitute a guarantee of employment. The decision to hire rests with the school. TEFL Heaven is not the employer and is not party to your employment contract with any school.

If an initial introduction does not result in a placement, we will continue to work with you to find a suitable alternative, provided you meet the qualification requirements for your chosen destination and have engaged actively with the process.

4. Your responsibilities

To participate in a TEFL Heaven program, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information about your qualifications, background, and circumstances
• Obtain and maintain all documentation required for your destination country (degree certificate, background check, medical certificate, etc.) — TEFL Heaven provides guidance but is not responsible for obtaining these on your behalf
• Apply for your visa in accordance with the guidance provided and within appropriate timeframes
• Behave professionally in all interactions with partner schools and employers
• Comply with the laws and regulations of your destination country
• Notify us promptly if your circumstances change in a way that may affect your placement

5. Fees and payments

Program fees are confirmed at the point of enrolment. By enrolling, you agree to pay the fee set out in your enrolment confirmation.

Fees are payable in accordance with the payment schedule confirmed at enrolment. We reserve the right to withhold services or withdraw placement support if fees are not paid in accordance with agreed terms.

TEFL Heaven does not process payments through this website. Payment details are handled separately and securely.

6. Cancellations and refunds

If you wish to cancel your enrolment, please contact us as soon as possible at info@teflheaven.com.

• Cancellation before program commencement — if you cancel before your TEFL course or placement process has begun, we will discuss a refund on a case-by-case basis, taking into account any costs already incurred
• Cancellation after program commencement — once your TEFL certification training has started or your placement process is underway, fees are generally non-refundable unless there are exceptional circumstances
• Visa refusal — if your visa application is refused through no fault of your own, we will work with you to find an alternative destination or discuss your options. Contact us immediately if this occurs

We handle all cancellation requests fairly and on their individual merits. If you have a concern, please contact us directly.

7. Limitation of liability

TEFL Heaven acts as an intermediary between teachers and schools. We are not party to your employment contract and are not responsible for the conduct of schools, employers, or third parties in your destination country.

While we vet our partner schools carefully, we cannot guarantee the behaviour of any school or employer, and are not liable for:

• Any failure by a school to honour an employment contract
• Changes to a school's circumstances, including closure or financial difficulty
• Changes to visa regulations, immigration law, or government policy in destination countries
• Personal injury, illness, loss, or damage occurring in your destination country
• Any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of our services

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

8. Our commitment to you

Despite the legal limitations above, we take every placement seriously. We have been operating since 2007 and our reputation depends on teachers having good experiences. If something goes wrong with your placement, contact us immediately — we will do our best to help resolve the situation, including finding an alternative placement where possible.

9. TEFL certification

Where TEFL certification is included in your program, it is provided through our partner TEFL training provider. The specific course, accreditation, and delivery method are confirmed at enrolment. Completion of the TEFL course is your responsibility. TEFL Heaven does not provide refunds for TEFL certification that has been activated or started.

10. Website use

The content on this website is provided for general information purposes. Destination information, salary data, and requirements may change — always verify current requirements directly with the relevant embassy, school, or government body before making decisions.

You may not copy, reproduce, or republish content from this website without our written permission.

11. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, guides, and design — is owned by TEFL Heaven or used under licence. Nothing on this website grants you any right to use our intellectual property without our written permission.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer in another jurisdiction where local consumer protection laws apply.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with the date last reviewed. Continued use of our services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
